Though still not great at cooking food when heat is required, Tyson is best at cooking fish. He can usually guess how long they need on the spit before burning, but that’s simply having cooked them more when surviving on his own. A combination of ‘I need to eat this and live’ & ‘I need to eat this, not immediately throw it up again’ were strong teachers.
When it doesn’t require heat, Tyson can actually make rather delicious food. This includes being able to make different types of sushi.
Ice-cream is one of the things outside of ‘needs heat’ cooking that Tyson can actually make delicious versions of.
Bread is amongst those foods that Tyson knows how to make and, whilst he’ll spend half the time whining about how the dough sticks to his hands, making bread is something Tyson genuinely enjoys doing. He finds it to be a very satisfying process and he’s always proud of what he makes.
Though he usually favours buying fresh coffee when going to meet with the Moriarty Mirrors, Tyson will carry around a flask of coffee that he brewed himself too. Typically, Tyson will make Turkish brew coffee (finding the way it’s made rather relaxing), but he’s also been known to make a fantastic drip cold brew.
As a general rule of thumb, there are only a handful of foods that Tyson knows how to make, but - outside of fish - when Tyson knows how to cook something, he will make the most delicious, Michelin quality versions of those foods.
Despite his apathy towards eating and general disinclination towards all foods regardless of taste, Tyson actually has a rather good palette. He can tell when a different ingredient has been used in a dish, how to compliment flavours with each other, and what herb/spice is missing for most types of food straight away.
Though Tyson’s art is clearly influenced by how much time he spent in his mother’s art room whilst growing up, there is a distinct line to be drawn between them: landscape verses portraits.
With the notable exception of the painting Tyson has in his apartment, most of his mother’s paintings were portraits, or - at the very least - orientated that way. Where the things Tyson doodlesare more often than not grey-scale realistic sketches, Anne favoured oil paints and watercolours, and impressionism.
On the other hand, Tyson’s photography is primarily (for work) done in portrait and Anne’s photos were landscape shots. She tended to take photos of the little things in life: for example, not taking a shot of Jethro and Tyson playing on the beach, but of the sandcastle they made instead.
Like everything in Tyson’s life, his phone was well organised. There was a code for everything in his phone: resources (ammo and gun suppliers, knife makers, fabric makers, tailors, butchers, bakers, anything Tyson used) were listed as different pieces of classical music, for example, his German tailor was listed under Schäferoper, one of Wagner’s operas.
By default, Tyson’s phone displayed all manner of incriminating data, but if he enters a different password when unlocking it, his phone will enter a mode where only data that he specifically flagged as safe will appear; it was easier than attempting to tag everything that wasn’t safe.
If the person matters to Tyson and is ever likely to call, Tyson will give them a personalised ringtone. His default ringtone, for people he doesn’t know/those he hasn’t gotten around to given a specific ringtone, is the chorus of ‘Pumped Up Kicks’. Whenever Tyson is out and about, his phone is on vibrate, but whilst at home he finds the music more useful to avoid unnecessarily springing into action.
For the people that matter to Tyson and are ever likely to call, he tends to rotate through different songs for them every other month to make sure the ‘new’ audio cue gets his attention quick enough, or else he tends to tune it out subconsciously if he’s too deep in his own mind.
There are, naturally, a few exceptions to this rule. Either due to rarity of calls or by having that song cemented in his mind for a particular person and it being someone he wouldn’t dare tune out. Those constants have a tendency to be family, or the people Tyson considers to be family.
Given the choice, would Tyson prefer to travel to the past or to the future?
It would depend on several factors for Tyson: how far in either direction that he could travel, how long he would be away for (in terms of staying in his destination and how much of an absence there would be from his leave), and whether or not he could return.
If Tyson would not be returned to his original point in the timeline, he would choose to go back in time by a handful of years. Far enough back that he can help smooth the passage of events whilst being near enough to have a clear memory of where help might be needed and that he can return to his own time without being too noticeably older.
If he would only be gone for a small amount of time, Tyson would favour the past where he at least has a vague knowledge to guide him, rather than trying to figure out an unknown future in a limited time frame.
However, if time spent away was as long as Tyson needed it to be and he knew that he could return back home afterwards, Tyson would choose to go to the future. Without a doubt.
He’s never been particularly squeamish about blood. In fact, Tyson has always been overly calm about the appearance of blood. Especially his own.
Having more fear about blood might actually go some way towards making Tyson better at keeping his own on the inside.
Regardless of his level of magic exposure for his current verse, Tyson goes out of his way to avoid consuming blood. He’ll accept getting painted in it for the Moriarty Mirrors, allow Lex to feed on his blood in Mythical!Verse, and Tyson will even make a blood pact without flinching, but there is a certain Jewish nerve in him that bristles too much at even the possibility of ‘blood libel’ that makes that a hard line for him.
Generally, Tyson won’t flinch if he tastes blood from a split lip - his own or someone else’s - or if any gets splashed in his mouth during a fight, but whenever he has the option to lick blood away or scrub it off, Tyson will always choose to wash himself thoroughly. Even if it’s simply a small cut on his thumb.
When Tyson was sent to an auction on business for the web, he never expected his evening to end sandwiched between a married couple in their hotel bed, but since that day, the former Lieutenant has learnt not to question the enigma that is Sienna McCullum. He has a feeling that Levi McCullum learnt a similar lesson much earlier on.
The face claim for Levi McCullum is Colin Farrell & Sienna McCullum is Alyson Hannigan.
On paper, Lexi McCullum is a talented pilot and mechanic, and Sienna McCullum is a well-respected non-fiction editor who met when their paths crossed on separate childhood holidays in Belarus and fell in love immediately. Theirs is the perfect feel-good romance that Sienna moved to non-fiction to avoid having to trudge through.
While it’s true that they met for the first time on separate childhood holidays in Belarus, that is where the accepted story and the truth part ways amicably, before the truth shoots their fairy tale in the back.
Thirteen-year-old Sienna was there with her mother and father, Lina & Franklin Tremblay, to serve - as she always did - as their alibi if anything went wrong during their heist, but little Sienna wanted to be a bigger part of the family business and took it upon herself to start robbing from rooms at their hotel to prove that she was ready.
She was not. As luck would have it, Sienna was saved from the fallout of her attempted burglary by an eleven-year-old Levi pretending to have set off the bugler alarm himself and allowed Sienna to hide in his wardrobe. They spent the rest of their holiday together and became pen pals to stay in touch.
The promise to write was the last time that Sienna heard Levi’s voice, as a string of illnesses eventually caused irreparable damage to Levi’s vocal cords, and nearly took the rest of Levi down with it.
Though they kept in touch throughout school and college, it wasn’t until their mid-twenties that Sienna & Levi met once again. In the interregnum, Levi had earnt his masters in engineering and pilot’s license then begun working as a plane mechanic, whilst Sienna had taken over the Tremblay theft & forgery business after her parents retired.
They eventually married and moved to the US together, with Levi finding satisfying work repairing vintage planes for pay and Sienna forging documents and smuggling goods to her contacts back in Canada. Then one of her contacts had their eyes set on goods in Europe, which led Sienna straight into the Moriarty Mirrors’ arms.
Sienna had made a name for herself as a smuggler, several in fact, and whilst there were no tells in her forgery work, it was the similarities in how those forgeries found themselves in the appropriate places - and away from the Mirrors’ own hands - that allowed the web to track her down.
An ultimatum was given, presented as an offer that neither McCullum were foolish enough to fall for: Work for us. Or don’t. Your choice.
And thus, Levi & Sienna found themselves in London. Sienna creates forgeries and smuggles for the web, whilst Levi has become one of the most trusted and reliable pilots within the web. Primarily, he works with Sienna to ensure their cargo gets where it needs to be, but he has also been known to fly to the rescue of the more important pets of the web.
When in the pilot’s seat, Levi is perfectly in control and none could ask for a better pilot. When literally anywhere else, Levi is a danger to himself and everyone else who shouldn’t even be trusted with safety scissors. Even the calm cool that he possesses in flight disappears, replaced by an adorably love drunk fool trailing around after Sienna like a puppy, hanging onto her every word.
In fairness to Levi, however, Sienna is an incredibly compelling person. She knows how to phrase even the most mundane fact into an incredible revelation. Where she capable of containing her wanderlust and staying put for more than a month, Sienna would have made an incredible politician.
