Earth!Verse

Earth!Verse follows Tyson’s normal timeline, for the most part.
Changes to the timeline:
When Tyson's Synesthesia appeared, at age three, his mutation started to appear. At first small pebbles began to hover when Tyson was upset or had any other strong emotions, this was then followed by (dry) clay pots shattering when Tyson was upset or had any other strong emotions.
By age nine the full extent of Tyson’s powers became evident. Tyson’s father - Professor John Delaney - did everything he could to keep Tyson’s mutation a secret whereas Jethro encouraged his younger brother, though powerless himself he did everything he could to help Tyson understand and control his powers.
When his grandmother passed away in the same year it was the first time Tyson lost control over his mutation completely. In his emotional state he destroyed most of the back garden. It took four months for all the rocks and soil to be put back in place, and for new grass to take roots. The second time was when Tyson was fourteen, and Jethro ran away from home.
During his time in the military Tyson kept his mutation secret. With the help of a large sum of money he managed to convince the medical officer who gave him his initial examination that the anomaly in his blood (evidence of his mutation) was an error with the machine.
Tyson used his abilities to sense disturbed earth to find planted mines and to move rubble away from injured soldiers. The only people in the army who knew about Tyson’s mutation were Colonel Sebastian Moran and Captain John Watson, the two people Tyson was close to.
When Tyson was forced to abandon the army by Sebastian, during 2008, his powers became weaker and he lost his control of them. The pain he suffered from the dent made it almost impossible to control his mutation.
Tyson’s powers are controlled mentally. The damage done to him by Sebastian wasn’t only physical, it was mental too. Once The Soldier* came into being there became short period of time, during dire need, when Tyson was in completely control of his mutation once more, but as soon as The Soldier slipped back - and Tyson returned - his control disappeared.
Once Tyson stopped traveling with Sebastian he got more control over his abilities, because he was in a better mental state and his powers are controlled mentally. However, The Soldier still maintains the most control over their abilities.
Whilst traveling across the Middle East, in this outfit, Tyson learnt how to sand bend for self-defense and to protect himself during sandstorms.
Tyson joined Moriarty at his normal point in time and is still completely  loyal to the criminal mastermind. He works for his owners in the same capacity he does in his main!verse, but his owners do made use of Tyson’s mutations on the missions they send him on.
*The soldier is the same in this verse as in any other verse.
The Soldier is a shield for Tyson, it protects his mental state.
Tyson can avoid stuttering completely and be completely in front of his actions, but only in short stints. After his time with The Colonel Tyson had been damaged physiologically, mentally, as well as physically. He was still The Soldier he once had been, but only in times of need. In the heat of battle or when medical care was needed the solider came out, as strong as he’d been in Afghanistan, but as soon as that need was taken care of he slipped away, using the thousands of broken shards of submissiveness Tyson has become as a shield to hide behind.
Tyson has been too messed up to maintain that nature indefinitely. When there was need he could be in control, but afterwards he hid away again. It exhausted Tyson to take on this soldier like nature, but when in need his instincts took over and dropped his shield. That strength was always there and occasionally bleed across when Tyson felt strong enough about a topic, but otherwise it hid behind Tyson’s submissiveness for when it was needed.
Tyson isn’t that aware of this, nor does he know that it is the beginnings of stress induced split personality. He knows that when threatened he would be stronger, more like he had been in the army, and that it felt like it wasn’t him doing the actions he had, but he doesn’t know that isn’t just his imagination.
Tyson’s default setting in time is just after the events of The Infinity Quest, but the Mun is happy to change the setting to any point in time in comic books or film timelines. The Mun is familiar with the films and a large amount of the comics, but every now and again I may need a reminder about specific events / characters.
At the moment Tyson isn’t a member of the X-Men or Brotherhood of Mutants, though he isn’t against either. Tyson is more inclined towards the Brotherhood, but he wouldn’t turn down the X-Men or be hostile towards those affiliated with that cause.
Tyson's powers.
Tyson is a Beta level mutant with the power of Geokinesis; earth manipulation.
[[This power was chosen because the element that Tyson connects with most is earth.]]
He can:
  • burrow underground by creating holes/tunnels to travel through/hide in
  • change the shape of earth, sharpen/dull objects, chisel earth [rocks/stones] by chipping away / slicing the earth
He can do this from a few meters away, but he has better control when touching the earth
  • compact earth such as sand and dirt into blocks of stone/earth
limitations: he can’t change the type of earth, only how compact the earth is [see bellow]
  • create earthquakes and tremors
limitations: Tyson rarely causes earthquakes or tremors on purpose, most of the time they happen when he’s in an unstable emotional state, and then when he does cause them on purpose he has little control over the earthquakes or tremors / the damage they cause
  • create tools, objects, weapons, armour, and even appendages out of earth
    limitations:
    • any armour he builds around himself will slow his movements and confine how much he can move, until the armour is dropped/broken
      • most commonly Tyson will build armour around his legs - up to halfway up his shins - to re-enforce his stance, the stronger Tyson’s stance the better control he has over the earth
    • tools/objects/weapons crafted by compressing earth, rather than chiseling the earth, are weaker and liable to breaking easier as, rather than being one solid piece, they are made from many pieces
  • geokinetic regeneration
    limitations:
    • Tyson can only do this when seriously injured / in immense pain and in places where “the earth’s aura is strongest”: natural places that are relatively untouched by humans
      • Tyson can feel these areas in the same way one can feel where a place is hot/cold, it’s a type of sense. He can’t seek out these areas, but he knows when he’s in one
    • it is a slow process, normally five-six hours, that offers Tyson no pain relief during the healing process
  • levitate earth
  • surf’ using earth
  • manipulate earth: (dry) clay, stone, rock, sand, salt, dry earth: dirt / soil, some minerals, and dust
limitations: if earth becomes wet (mud) then Tyson can no longer manipulate it
  • propel earth to attack and defend in battle
In combat Tyson prefers to use his powers defensively, only attacking when he truly needs to, but when he needs to attack he does so in a similar style to in his main!verse; Tyson uses stones to strike opponents at pressure / nerves points. He doesn’t use traditional weapons often but he still does use guns and knives in this verse when he needs to, after all he was trained to in the army and Tyson doesn’t want to let that knowledge go to waste.
When being defensive Tyson has multiple approaches, but the most common is to either summoning earth or pulling it up from the ground to shield himself or other people. This is the most common as it is, generally, a simple motion that doesn’t require too much concentration and - therefore - tires Tyson out less
  • sense/perceive vibrations / disturbances/anomalies in the earth
  • teleport (using) the earth: Tyson appears to be absorbed by the earth then pushed back out somewhere else
    limitations:
    • he has little control as to where he reappears, only the general direction he is sent in
    • he can only teleport a few meters away, when his adrenaline rate is high and he is in a state of dire need to get away
    • depending on how afraid Tyson is at the time, and therefore how stable his mental state is, Tyson can emerge as his disappeared (when relatively calm) or as though dragged through brambles or more accurately earth (when deathly afraid)
      • things that are in the earth but not earth or types of earth that Tyson cannot manipulate [see bellow] Tyson can be damaged by, regardless of the mental state he is in during the teleportation
      • very solid objects in the earth - that Tyson cannot manipulate, such as buried cars or concrete pillars - that are direction in the path Tyson was teleported and (more than) half Tyson’s size will ‘bump’ him out of the earth: either directly up from where he hit the object or a few paces back from where he hit it and up, depending on the speed of the impact
    • when teleporting stones / earth can be brought with him, but not on purpose. As far as Tyson can tell it is random as to wither stones will come or not
He can’t:
  • animate earth, such as Golems
  • cause Avalanches, Mudslides or Quicksand
exceptions : earthquakes caused by Tyson can trigger the above, but they are not directly linked to Tyson’s abilities
  • change the type/form of earth, i.e. a slate stone can’t be changed to a limestone stone
exceptions / inclusions: he can compress earth [see above]
  • create/generate/increase earthen materials
  • heal earth
  • manipulate crystal, gravity, lava, oil, plants, magma, some minerals, mud, wet clay, or any artificial materials: concrete, glass, metal, et cetera
  • manipulate earth that weighs more than an average female [African] elephant - or 3 tons / 6000 pounds / 2721.55 kilograms, if you want to be dull - and/or is more than fifteen meters away from himself
  • manipulate earth when submerged in water
    exceptions / inclusions:
    • if a limb is above the water then he can manipulate earth
    • if it is raining then his powers are weaker
    • he can control earth that remains dry / is only wet on the surface such as stones and rocks, but earth that can be perimated by the water such as dirt or soil he can’t control the wet areas
  • manipulate tectonic plates
  • purify earth
  • take flight using earth
  • use abacomancy
Tyson’s powers are controlled mentally, but his control and strength are increased when he has physical contact with the piece of earth he is manipulating.
Emotional changes in Tyson can trigger his powers accidently. Most commonly strong negative emotions will cause earthquakes. His damaged mental state means that Tyson has less control over his mutation than he used to, but he can act on instincts; i.e. catching a stone falling nearby automatically. The Solider has full control over their powers and utilizes them fully, though shifts in emotion have as much of an effect on him as they do on Tyson.
Tyson’s mutation is linked to his Synesthesia.* When he suppresses his Synesthesia he also suppresses part of his powers. The Soldier never suppresses their Synesthesia, because he needs total focus and trying to suppress it takes away part of his concentration.
Tyson doesn’t fully understand how his Synesthesia and mutation are linked, but they came in at the same time and Tyson has always understood both through mathematics (and physics).
Tyson uses his abilities sparingly, only using them when he needs to in order to help keep his mutation a secret. He also tries to avoid using his abilities too often because they tire him out quickly, both mentally and physically.
*Tyson’s form of Synestheisa is the same in this verse as it is in his normal verse:
Tyson has a form of Synesthesia, when he sees people or animals he sees a series of maps - bones, veins, tendons, muscles - he has to concentrate to turn that off.
It isn’t everything he sees, it’s like an over lay his brain created for what he sees. This applies to his own body and photographs as well. This form of synesthesia doesn’t only apply to people. Most of the time Tyson is concentrating hard enough not to see the maps but when in urban or rural areas and not concentrating, if he’s seen a map of the area, he’ll see the maps. He’ll recognise rock formations or specific building shapes and see the maps bent and folded over to match his viewing angle.
Tyson can also flash memories maps and then recall them exactly as and when needed, it isn’t clear if this is part of his synesthesia or if it is a separate condition but he assumes it is part of it.
Tyson’s fondness of mathematics isn’t only because he enjoyed mathematics, thought that plays a large part in it, but mathematics enabled him to understand the maps he saw from his Synesthesia. Thought there are likely to be other factors involved Tyson puts all credit to mathematics for enabling to understand the images that overlapped his vision.
Tyson’s lack of control over his powers means that he doesn’t live in London. He views it as being too dangerous, not only for himself but for other people. Tyson moves around every four months between a series of remote houses - provided to him by his owners - in the Scottish Highlands, the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Appalachian Mountains, and the Pontic Mountains in Northern Turkey. Various views of these homes can be seen under the tags: #homes-away-from-home#scottish-highlands-home,#blue-ridge-mountains-home#appalachian-mountains-home#pontic-mountains-home. Tyson still has access to his apartment, it was gifted to him as a safe house by his owners, and owns the the family manor, he just doesn’t live in either location anymore.
His owners allow this because Tyson always returns when called in, does the job, then goes back home. This also means that Tyson made frequent trips to London, and other cities, to do jobs for his owners and to visit them, because he is still their loyal Pup in this verse and wants to see them often.
In this verse Tyson doesn’t have Lily or Bobby, the only pet he has is Jack. Jack isn’t any more welcoming to people who aren’t Tyson than he is in the other verses, Jack is truly a one man (or mutant) dog, but he is warmer to mutants than he is to regular humans. Jack, essentially, works as a therapy dog, soothing Tyson when he is upset and keeping him from getting lonely.
In this verse he gets around on his motorbike. Tyson has to replace parts on his motorbike often, because it takes a lot of damage during the off road journeys to and from his mountain home.
Tyson’s attire in this verse is mostly the same as in any other. The only change is that in this verse Tyson always carries around a burlap bag of stones, attached to the left side of his belt by an artificial leather strap. When Tyson’s wearing his working belt Tyson positions the bag between the metal flask of water and the metal container that works as a simple first aid kit.
Tyson carries the stones around at all times to make sure he always has access to some form of earth, even when in an urban setting. Tyson normally only has ten stones, roughly one inch at the longest points, of varying type because of the weight of the stones.

Pet Blindspot

One of the hardest - and yet easiest - ways to get past Tyson’s defences is by winning over his pets.
He puts a lot of faith into their judgement of a person when he’s doubting himself and noticing Lily or Bobby consistently getting between him and another person is a guaranteed way to make him turn tail.
The bond he shares with his animals is invaluable and he knows that it has saved his life multiple times, but Tyson is also aware that it leaves a blind spot in his guard. It’s one that he’s aware of and watching for, but also one that Tyson can easily stumble into.
Simply having his pets around lowers Tyson’s guard and makes him more malleable.

Dance

Amongst many other lessons, Tyson and Jethro were both tutored in ballroom, ballet, classical, tap, and contemporary dance.
Primarily they were taught ballroom and classical, with ballet only appearing as punishment when they needed to work on posture or balance. Jethro excelled with tap, whilst Tyson still holds great contempt for the sound the shoes made when talking around.
He enjoyed the technique of tap, however, which might be why shuffle dance was on of the few modern dances Tyson is actually good at. Jethro is passable with most dances that were around from his teens until late twenties, with an unforgivable - and completely unironic - love of the macarena.
Predictably, Tyson favoured the slower partnered dances where Jethro preferred faster pace and was fine with dancing on his own.

Stolen Items

Over the years Tyson has stolen many things, but most haven’t remained in his possession: either handed over to the Moriarty Mirrors if orders to steal it, discharged afterwards, or returned to their original owner when possible.
Most of the vehicles he’s needed to steal have ended up dismantled for spare parts and the majority of the money has ended up in charity boxes. Until he got Sienna to agree to take it off his hands, Tyson was stuck with a stolen painting and absolutely no idea what he was supposed to do with it.
A (relatively speaking, small) marble statue that Tyson snatched out of spite from a former business associate of the web has been at his Bath warehouse for over two years now. It’s too valuable to sell conventionally and too recognisable for Sienna to take care of for him. It seemed like a good idea at the time, and now Tyson gets the feeling that its smug expression is mocking him.

Camping

Despite being a city boy through and through, and needing to physically drag Tyson out of his urban safety net in the first place, Tyson actually rather enjoys camping.
His hatred of being trapped in a metal box makes caravans and trailers unbearable to him, but Tyson finds setting up under the stars or inside a tent to be very relaxing. He misses the city with every fibre of his being, yet it can also be a nice break to take with his dogs and with his family.
He always prefers to travel with the bare minimum supplies, to have exactly as much as is necessary without weight himself down, but Tyson is also content to work around whatever creature comforts those travelling with him need.

Undercover!Verse

Undercover Police Officer verse {OPEN}
↳ Undercover!verse
This verse takes place during a time when Tyson’s working undercover in the London police force. He is temporarily working undercover with, Moriarty’s permanent undercover pet, Lestrade to take down a drug lord that’s causing difficulties for several of his owners’ business associates.
Unless he knows your character is or learns your character is one of Moriarty’s pets / works for Moriarty, Tyson will act like a regular Police Officer. Tyson does the job he’s expected to as a police officer, as he sees it as a way of making up for the bad things he does for Moriarty.
Even with all of the resources the web has access to, Tyson still isn’t certain how the Moriarty Mirrors managed to pull this one off. He’s been on the police’s radar for years due to his connection to Sebastian Moran, despite being proven innocent, and, whilst nothing can be proven, his connection to the Moriarty Mirrors hasn’t gone unnoticed either.
Every single day, Tyson is walking into the lion’s den and hoping that his cover isn’t blown. Or rather, that no one has proof of what he’s actually doing whilst there. He knows that plenty of people already suspect him or distrust him on principle, but with no proof and Lestrade’s protection Tyson is - largely - safe.

Element AU: Air

Tyson is most naturally aligned with Earth, but how would Tyson manage with the other four elements?

Elemental AU: Book 3 (Air)

With fire in second and water in third, air is the element that Tyson would struggle with the most, and a simple exercise proves it:
Hold open your arms in a welcoming gesture, then throw your arms wide open, like an Airbender.
Now try and imagine Tyson completely exposing his front that way. Even welcoming back his brother after years away, Tyson’s arms would be closer to his body and no where near as open as a normal ‘welcoming gesture’.
Whilst Tyson would appreciate the move defensive and evasive nature of air, Tyson is ill-suited to its open positioning. He has the flexibility, in his tactics and physicality, to work with air, and yet it simply wouldn’t work for him. ‘And yet’ is a common theme when describing Tyson’s connection to air.
When it’s said that Tyson is Icarus that means he is made to try and fly, to reach for the sky, but to always fall back down to the ground. Broken, but not beaten. To climb in through your window, stay long enough to lick his wounds, then jumping out again. A constant cycle of falling and trying, and not ever flying.
Much like water, air is something that Tyson can admire and understand, but it’s not an element that Tyson could comfortably wield. He can understand the roaring rage in untamed winds and the delicate dancing of the breeze, he can feel the pang of longing in his chest for those things, but that simply isn’t who Tyson is at the end of the day.
Air is the element of freedom and spirituality, of endless horizons and lungs full of life. New begins and new hope. Tyson is perseverance and structure, of planting his feet and refusing to say die. Keeping to the status quo, and repeating the same mistakes over and over again with grim resolve.

Sex

The last person Tyson would have slept with would be Sebastian or Lex.
He isn’t fond of one night stands and whilst fooling around with Lex seems like the more likely last time, Tyson has been known to tumble into bed with Sebastian once more during temporary truces between the two of them.
Corruption!Verse and Redemption!Verse are the exceptions, where Tyson’s last time would be sharing the bed of Levi & Sienna McCullum. Naturally, Sienna was the one to suggest this and - as always - Levi & Tyson shared a shrug, then nodded along with her plan.
Whilst Tyson has shared their bed in every verse where he knows them, that has only ever been for sleep. Corruption/Redemption!Verse are the only places where Tyson is consistently confident and comfortable enough in himself that Sienna would feel comfortable propositioning him.
Beyond not trusting strangers enough to touch him, and his usual suspects consisting of someone who keeps trying to beat him into near death and someone who’s ego does not need any fluffing, Tyson tends not to have sex that often because he doesn’t feel as though the reward is worth the effort.
Tyson is more than happy to go along with whatever will bring his partner pleasure and he certainly enjoys sex, but he is prone to sensory overload after sex and his drop from climax is more often than not a harsh drop back to reality, which can end up overruling whatever pleasure he might have felt.

Cat!Verse

Even after everything Sebastian did to him, Tyson’s own worst enemy is himself and in the end, it was Sebastian that caused his own downfall. Or maybe that’s just what Tyson says to alleviate his own misplaced guilt.
For a long time, Moran had Tyson completely under his thumb, but he got lax; got cocky, when the Moriarty Mirrors came around recruiting. With Moran preening over the attention, Tyson was able to sneak a knife into his possession.
Tyson truly didn’t intend to kill Sebastian. He only wanted to prove to himself that Sebastian didn’t have complete control over him anymore, only drew the weapon to stop Sebastian’s attack. He wasn’t supposed to die. Moran was never meant to bleed out in Tyson’s arms from the slash against his larynx.
Tyson was never supposed to sob over his cold body. Never supposed to call  Yithrô in a panic at one o’clock in the morning. Jethro was never supposed to compromise his morals even further for Tyson by using his police resources to help cover up the murder.
For a time, Tyson stayed with Jethro, Rosie, and James whilst he recovered from the last injuries Sebastian would ever inflict on him. A part of him that he hated, wishing the bruises would stay a while longer, so that part of Moran would stay with him. More than the dog tags he keeps around his neck beside his own.
Tyson has moved into a new home, away from the abuse he suffered under Moran. A house that conveniently has the same layout at the Earth!verse Blue Ridge Mountains home. He lives there with Mandy and Felix, a female Tabby and a male Ragdoll cat.
Deprived of their sniper, the Moriarty Mirrors could simply move on, but for now they’re keeping their eyes on Tyson. He is in a very fragile state currently, if they pushed too hard he would break entirely and be useless to them. However, if they nurtured him properly, he could become a valuable asset. They already know that this cat has claws.
More often than not, Tyson can be found with Mandy nestled in the hood of his hoodie and Felix spilling out of both ends of the large front pocket. Even when they aren’t sapping his heat, the two cats are rarely far from Tyson.
He’s still trying to find his place in the world now that he’s free from Sebastian’s abuse and Tyson hasn’t worked up the courage to meet too many other people. He continues to know Jeremy and has started opening up about the truth to Tae.
Rather than throwing him in at the deep end, Nate is the one assigned with slowly easing Tyson into the web. He posed as a friendly face at The Biscuit Tin and routinely shows up at Tyson’s home to see how he’s doing. Nate has a task to perform, but he does genuinely care about Tyson and not rushing him to remove faster than he’s ready for.
Tyson has access to the family fortune once more and continued to receive money from the books he worked on with Sebastian. He volunteers at a pet shelter to give himself something to focus on and feel useful doing, rather than driving himself up the wall at home.
Though it could be argued that Tyson has a crutch on both rather than an addiction to either, his habit of mixing alcohol with painkillers has become much more common and Sebastian is no longer around to take the lion’s share of the alcohol from him. Cat!Verse is one of the places where Tyson is the most honest with his brother, but he refuses to let his brother know about that.

Steam

With Sebastian’s radar-like intuition for saunas, it’s not too surprising that some of Tyson’s better memory are there.
However, that does not explain how danger unaware the normally super cautious Tyson becomes around steam.
Everything else Tyson treats with healthy distrust and he understands objectively that steam can be dangerous, but his immediate impulse around steam is to put his face in it and be warm; be this steam from the shower, kettle, or convoluted enemy trap.
He has burnt his hands a frankly embarrassing number of times by waving them above a boiling kettle simply because its warm.

Archery

Though archery was also one of the many lessons that Tyson and Jethro were given as heirs to the Delaney family legacy, the brothers are far more likely to remember playing with Nerf-dart bows than the actual archery lessons.
Archery was one of the few activities where their father would actually watch them whilst they practiced. Perhaps simply as those lessons lined up with warmer, fairer weather that coaxed the Professor outside, but it meant that they looked forward to them; and practiced with the toy bows to impress him.

Matthew

He is incredibly proud of being Jewish. However, Tyson is also an incredibly cautious person with a great memory who will take any steps necessary to protect himself and those he cares about.
If necessary, to protect himself or someone else, Tyson is willing to pretend to be Christian and took the initiative of memorising the book of Matthew to ‘prove’ that. When asked to prove that he knows the bible, Tyson will usually default on Matthew 11:28.

Undercover Jobs

Though Tyson prefers not to pretend he has an ability that he cannot provide if someone requires it, he has pretended to have a plethora of jobs during his time working for the Moriarty Mirrors.
It’s rare to catch Tyson in a lie, but those undercover jobs are the ones that are most likely to cause a problem for him; especially those he’s needed to return to multiple times.
There is someone who works at his local vet that continues to operate under the assumption that Tyson is an electrical engineer, one of the professors at the University of London who thinks that Tyson is a slight-of-hand-magician (in one of the odder cons that Lex dragged Tyson into), and a restaurant owners who believes that he is a CEO working in competition with Nate.

Norse Mythology

Though both brothers always enjoyed talking about mythology together, Norse mythology always caught Jethro’s imagination far more than Tyson; who found that the Greek tales resonated more with him, but that the Norse ones had more pathos to them than the Roman ones.
As part of an art project at secondary school, Tyson made a clay statue of Sleipnir for his brother. The face was somewhat questionable and part of the tail chipped off before Tyson got it home, but that statue still remains on the shelf of Jethro’s bedroom.

DC UA

This verse takes place in the DC universe. It can be treated as a ‘Location Change Verse’, in so far as what changes in Tyson’s life beyond new cities and superheroes/villians existing.
Wanting to expand the web beyond London, the Moriarty Mirrors sent Tyson over to America. Tyson is willing to do a lot for both of them. He loves them. He draws the line at working for an overseas criminal empire from Gotham. Not happening. He honestly loves Gotham, it’s a beautiful if deadly city, and he will gladly visit it, but he will not work there.
Eventually, a compromise was agreed upon. Tyson lives in Coast City, in a suburban house that conveniently looks identical to his Army!verse house with Jack, his faithful Doberman. Lily and Bobby are now serving as guard dogs for the Moriarty Mirrors in the absence of their Pup.
Officially, Tyson is there as a professor, guest lecturing in Coast City and making trips around the country to give seminars at other colleges and universities. Whilst he does attend more prestigious places like Gotham Academy and the up-and-coming colleges in Metropolis, Tyson frequently takes the time to visit smaller community colleges in Blüdhaven whenever possible.
Unofficially, Tyson travels around to cover his tracks, gather Intel, and broker deals for the web. Whilst he conducts smaller jobs elsewhere, his true place of work is Blüdhaven, working with the web to build contacts in Gotham - by supplying Intel, drugs, guns, assassinations, whatever is needed - from a safe distance.
A steady trickle of employees from the web are finding their way to Blüdhaven now and the surrounding areas to prepare for the Moriarty Mirrors’ imminent arrival.
Within DC UA, Tyson is working closely with his primary US contact, Dick Gannon, who has moved over to Blüdhaven on the Moriarty Mirror’s orders.
As is always the case for Location Change Verses, Tyson dearly misses Lovely Lady London and he misses the Moriarty Mirrors too. In this verse, his homesickness is stronger than in most, as he’s constantly on the move around the United States to get things prepared for his owners.
Whilst this initially felt like a temporary stationing, like their expansion into Istanbul, Tyson is slowly accepting that the move into America is a long term one and it may be years until he can return to London or see his family semi-regularly again.

Homes

Depending on his verse, Tyson’s living situation and home may change to suit his needs in that universe.
His usual London apartment suits his typically needs in that there is - just - enough space and it’s enclosed enough that Tyson feels safe. It’s a space where Tyson knows every inch and can see the majority of the apartment from the main room. It’s comfortable and cozy, protected by the Moriarty Mirrors, and in a city he loves. It’s easy to call home for any iterations of Tyson at any point in his timeline.
Tyson’s Army!Verse home is a very different story. It’s large open spaces that flow from one to another, more distance from the city and full of natural light. It’s a home that suits Tyson when he’s recovering (Veteran AU/Chicago!Verse), where he needs more space (HDM AU), or where Sebastian needs Tyson under his thumb (Kitten!Verse). This is also the house that main!verse Tyson owned before he abandoned the army.
The homes away from home are less personal, more suited to verses where Tyson is bouncing between different places constantly - UA India/Earth!Verse - but there are niches that certain ones fulfil:
  • Blue Ridges Mountains Home is different enough from Army!Verse home to separate Cat!Verse Tyson from The Colonel, whilst still being open enough to prevent him from feeling trapped.
  • Pontic Mountains Home is perfect for Redemption!Verse, where Tyson needs room for three dogs (Lily, Bobby, & Jack), a cat (Felix), his nephew (James), and James’ nanny (Charlie).
Tyson rarely wants to return to living in the Delaney family manor, but for Teacher!Verse, it was the best option for him.

Halloween

Though Tyson doesn’t really celebrate Halloween, or any other holiday, he does make an allowance for his nephew and he will always make sure to have a stockpile of sugar for the enjoyment of others.
The biggest exception to this is in Teacher!Verse. There Tyson’s number one priority is making sure his students are happy and learning. He point blank refuses to have anything Christmas related in his classroom, so instead for the entirety of October, there is a bowl of sweets by Tyson’s door and on his desk.
You answered a question? Have some sugar. You were passing by the door? Grab something sweet whilst you’re there. Feeling blue? Have some sherbet.
