The neck line

After an incident in Afghanistan, a mission gone wrong, Tyson doesn't wear anything with too tight of a collar.
The clothes that he wears are either very loose and bellow his collar bones [t-shirts and polos] or stop on the collar bone and are tight enough that they can't slip any higher [basically anything else other than dress shirts and formal dress shirts*].
When he wears a dress shirt he doesn't do up the top button and lets the tie or bow tie [or any other type of fabric worn around the neck] keep the collar closed. When he wears a formal dress shirt he'll close the top button but keep the neck wear loose to avoid triggering any flash backs.
*Having come from an upper class family Tyson considers anything worn on the torso that isn't a vest or item of clothing worn over a shirt [blazer, jacket, coat, et cetera] to be a dress shirt. What most people would normally call a dress shirt Tyson calls a formal dress shirt.

Tyson's eyes

Tyson’s eyes are brown (Hazel). In this particular picture of Damien Molony his eyes are green but if you look at others his eyes are clearly brown. This is very common for people with hazel eyes, so I will always say that Tyson’s eyes are brown but on occasion they may have a green hue to them.

Tyson’s brother’s, Jethro Andrew Delaney, eyes are usually green but occasionally become green, like their mother’s, Anne. Whereas Tyson takes after their father, John, and his eyes are usually brown and only occasionally green. Due to the resemblance to his father’s Tyson has never liked his eyes, except for when they become green; which happens more in the summer when the brighter light brings out the green pigment better than it does during the other seasons.

When Tyson served in Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, 2001-2006 and 2006-2008, the brighter light in the Middle East meant that Tyson’s eyes were green more often than they are now that he is in Britain. This also applies to the time Tyson spent running away from the army both with and without Sebastian, 2008-2011.

Christmas or therefore lack of.

Head Canon:
Tyson doesn’t celebrate christmas. Having grown up in a Jewish household he didn’t as a child and without a family he sees no need to now.
Unless he knows that someone definitely does celebrate the holiday Tyson doesn’t both getting them a gift or a card as he knows that most people would then feel obligated to get him something, and he doesn’t want anything*.
The only difference is that he is more charitable, though only because it is nearly impossible to turn a corner without finding a donation box set up specifically for christmas and Tyson will always give if he has money on him at the time.
*That statement isn’t entirely true. There are items that he does want but he’s has never been in a position where he has been lacking money. With access to the family fortune Tyson doesn’t need to wait till Christmas to get something he wants.
Even then he doesn’t buy all that much. He limits himself to buying one book a month and, unless it was a digital book, at the end of the month the book will either be placed in the library at the family manor or given to a charity shop.

Tyson's Education

The secondary school Tyson attended was Cambridge International School, a private school. He attended until he was fifteen when his father had him moved to Cambridge University, four years early.
His father was able to do this because he’d held a position at Cambridge University as a Professor of Mathematics for over twenty years.
At Cambridge Tyson studied mathematics and military history. His anti-war father disagreed with his choice of minor but agreed to let him continue it rather than taking political studies. Tyson was also able to study law at Cambridge for half a semester when he finished mathematics early.

Word related head canons

Burn

Since a young age Tyson had been scared of fire.
Whilst his brother would watch the flames in the fire place and be transfixed by how they moved, Tyson would stare at the flame to make sure they weren’t touching anything flammable. As if looking away from the flames would mean that the house would suddenly turn to ash as the fire burned it down.

Quiet

From toddler to early teen Tyson was quiet, father was working.

For the rest of his teens Tyson was quiet, father was working.
Twenty to twenty seven Tyson was quiet, there was work to be done.
Traveling to India Tyson was silent, Sebastian was talking.
Fleeing back home Tyson was silent, the police were coming.
Hiding from the Colonel Tyson was silent, everyone was coming.
Now safe and sound with darling dearest Tyson was resounding, the consulting criminal was calling.

Tuesday 4 December 2012

Tyson's gadgets.

Tyson buys gadgets he thinks will do a good enough job for his purposes then hacks into them and edits the softwear / hard wear to fit his needs. Using the technology in his owner's compound Tyson learnt how to edit his devices to fit his needs.

Due to the family's wealth money isn't an issue but he prefers not to buy anything overly expensive as most of the time he can find a relativity cheap gadget to get what he wants done; and its less likely to get stolen. Tyson's three main gadgets are his phone, tablet, and laptop.

Laptop

Tyson mainly used his laptop to write. It doesn't show very well when he speaks but Tyson is very literate and enjoys writing stories.  The top or back laptop is "decorated" with stickers ranging from the stickers that come on apples to promotional 'Pedigree' stickers that came with the dogs treats. His nephew has also contributed several stickers to it.

He uses the laptop's keyboard - though he's replaced alternate keys to make a black (keys with white text) and white (keys with black text) checkerboard board, similar to this but with normal laptop keys not Mac keys  -  but has a separate wireless mouse.

Phone

Like everything in Tyson’s life, his phone was well organised. There was a code for everything in his phone: resources (ammo and gun suppliers, knife makers, fabric makers, tailors, butchers, bakers, anything Tyson used) were listed as different pieces of classical music, for example, his German tailor was listed under Schäferoper, one of Wagner’s operas.
By default, Tyson's phone displayed all manner of incrimitaing data, but if he enters a different password when unlocking it, his phone will enter a mode where only data that he specifically flagged as safe will appear; it was easier than attempting to tag everything that wasn't safe.
If the person matters to Tyson and is ever likely to call, Tyson will give them a personalised ringtone. His default ringtone, for people he doesn't know/those he hasn't gotten around to given a specific ringtone, is the chorus of 'Pumped Up Kicks'. Whenever Tyson is out and about, his phone is on vibrate, but whilst at home he finds the music more useful to avoid unnecessarily springing into action.
Tablet
For Tyson, his tablet is purely person. His laptop will be used for work, but his tablet is just for entertainment purposes: for reading digital books, listening to music, and watching films. He uses the tablet for these things rather than his laptop because it is more portable than the laptop and needs charging less often.

Nervous ticks.

There are three main types of twitches that Tyson has; twitching the first two fingers of his left hand, flexing his right hand, and toying with his dog tags.

He does different one depending on how nervous he is at the time. Twitching the first two fingers of his left hand happens when he is nervous about anything as a general that is what he'll do, the other two happen when his nervousness is more specific.

If he feels threatened when he'll flex his right hand. It is fairly common in soldiers and is often a reflex left over from adjusting ones grip on a gun.

If he doesn't know what to say then he'll toy with his dog tags, either by rolling them through his fingers or straightening them out, depending on how nervous he is.

Tyson's bike

Model:   Trek 3900
Colour: Dark Olive
Since having a car in London is often expensive when living inside the congestion zone Tyson gets around in cabs, bus, the underground, on foot, and on his bike. Whilst having a light weight street bike would be more practical Tyson's bike is a mountain bike because the better suspension doesn't jolt his ribs as much meaning they are less likely to be damaged whist riding around.

When at the pet store Tyson keeps his bike in the backroom, lent against the wall so he can get under the stairs and up the stairs with ease. When at home he keeps his bike in the hallway where he has to side step it to get in and out which makes his already difficult to navigate home a death trap that is impossible to get in and out of, this had lead to Bobby jumping out of the window rather than using the door. Tyson has considered joining him in this.

Equipment:

  • Lights
Tyson is often up in the early hours of the morning and late at night, when there are fewer people around, so he needed to fix lights on his bike. Not only a light so that he could see where he was going but also ones so that cars could see him.
  • Mudguard
There is a mudguard for the back wheel but not the front wheel as Tyson rides in the city, only.
  • Stand
Tyson fitted a stand to the bike after finding that just leaning the bike against the wall meant if fell over, constantly and that this would also happen at stores.
  • Lock

He lives in London, self explanatory.

Saturday 13 October 2012

Towels

Tyson has three types of towels in his airing cupboard: red, blue, and purple. The blue are for Lily, her white coat means she needs to be cleaned often to keep it white, which is the same reason why Bobby has his own towels, the red ones. The towels Tyson uses to dry himself are the purple towels because he is, on occasion, pedantic and would rather not get covered in dog hair straight out of the shower.

Saturday 29 September 2012

why does Tyson act to needy when confronted with affection?

Good question, no one. Let’s start with Tyson’s childhood. His father never gave him any affection which meant any he got came from his brother and mother. His mother and brother abandoned him when he was young meaning for a long time of his life, a time when affection and support is incredibly important, he got none.

Then he joined the army and (almost) the only affection that he got came from Sebastian, hard to believe but on occasion Sebastian was nice to Tyson. By now you should notice the theme, Sebastian also abandoned him (after months of abuse.)

This means Tyson is both deprived of affection and afraid of it. He desperately wants it because he’s been starved of it, but at the same time he’s afraid to have it because he’s afraid that it’ll disappear if he has it. He clings to the affection so much because he’s afraid that if he doesn’t hold onto it tightly it will disappear and leave him like everything else, it’s why he doesn’t let Lily and Bobby out of his sight.

Tyson's handwriting

His signature (below) is generally much neater than his handwriting and is closer to how his writing looks when taking his time and being extra careful, such as when writing on his maps, as opposed to his general/note taking writing above.

Sunday 26 August 2012

The leather jacket.

Jethro knew Tyson would be upset that he was running away so left a note on his bedside table and put the leather jacket over Tyson as a blanket.

He didn't want to abandon Tyson, as their mother had abandoned them both with their father, but Jethro knew that he wouldn't be able to take care of Tyson on his own. Not properly.

Tyson's Triggers

  • Being called Poppet
  • Being called Kitten
  • Being called Kiddo
  • Being around alcohol
  • People touching the dent in his torso.
  • Barns
  • Raised, angry voices
  • Hands being raised quickly, close to him
  • Men with grey hair
  • Men with similar voices to Sebastian
  • Thunder and Lightening
  • Cold water on his head

Though these are all triggers, rather than things that make him uncomfortable, they are not always going to cause a flashback or break him. It depends on the moment and his mental state at the time.

Wednesday 22 August 2012

Fevers only

Tyson never gets 'ill', he gets fevers.

If he catches any form of sickness it becomes a fever almost without fail, if it is anything more than a cold or a headache.
His fever normally breaks after two days.
The severity varies depending on what he actually came down with. Sometimes he'll just be running unhealthily hot, but power through it. Other times, he'll be unable to lift his head from his pillow without feeling lightheaded.

Sunday 19 August 2012

Map of Tyson's scars.

Tyson has more scars than purely those pictures bellow, however, those are a combination of the most severe and the ones that Tyson cares about: ones that came from mistakes, unavoidably his fault and his fault alone, or caused by The Colonel.

He is littered with small scars from a hard fought life, working in dangerous places in the web/the army and from surviving everything The Colonel/being abandoned in the desert threw at him. These scars largely small things attained over the years/changeable depending on the thread and Tyson's experiences within them. Nicks from working with knives in the kitchen and in the web, grazing wounds from shrapnel in the army, et cetera.

Saturday 18 August 2012

Tyson's twitches master list.

  • Rolling his dog tags. – Unsure / deep in thought / doesn't know what to say.
  • Putting a hand over the dent in his torso. – Vulnerable.
  • Running a hand through his hair, hastily glancing. – Floundering.
  • Taking a sharp breath and tensing. – There is thunder.
  •  Left ring finger twitches. - Lying.
  • Playing with his zippier. – Shy.
  • Biting his lip. – Not saying something / thinking.

  • Flexing his right hand - Feels threatened.
  • Right eye twitching - OCD being affected.

Friday 17 August 2012

His dog tags are a mask to hide behind.

Tyson is ashamed of how his military carrier ended so he always wears his dog tags and introduces himself as 'Lieutenant' because to him it feels as though he is still part of the military that way.

Originally he joined the military to annoy his father, who spent most of his time out of work promoting anti-war ideals, but he became attached to the military because it gave him a purpose.

Thursday 16 August 2012

Fear of water.

When they met Lily was afraid of water, Tyson taught her to swim.

Wednesday 15 August 2012

His dog tags.

His dogtags are covered in scratches, general wear and tear, but the two most important markings are:

Tyson finds how Jim thinks fascinating.

Tyson is fascinated by how Jim thinks. He knows he does't have a chance of keeping up with him but he enjoys thinking over what Jim had said when he was on his own to trying and follow the train of thought, even though he is certain he is no where near it.

Monday 13 August 2012

Brothers before all others.

When Tyson returned to Britian he stayed with his brother for three weeks but he left because he knew the army would be looking for his brother to track him down. Jethro was taken in for questioning but said he didn't know where Tyson was and that he hadn't seen him.

Sunday 12 August 2012

Why does Tyson have Lily?

Those who pay attention to the threads may have noticed that Tyson is nearly always followed by Lily.

I made the decision to give Tyson Lily because she calms him down. After all Tyson has been through it is very unlikely he wouldn't have some form of PTSD, Lily acts as a therapy dog for him. She keeps him calm and makes his fingers twitches minimally.

Lily is there to act as a barrier for him.

Saturday 11 August 2012

Soup

Jethro used to sneak Tyson out with him on summer nights so that they could swim in the creak after the area became a national park and they couldn't go in the day time.

Once they went in the late Autumn and Tyson got hypothermia. Jethro left so guilt he stayed at home with Tyson until he got better, as their father worked all day he didn't notice and Jethro phoned the school to say they both had chicken pox so they school wouldn't tell their father they weren't at school. It was during that week the Tyson learned to cook chicken soup by watching Jethro make it for him. Now whenever Tyson is ill he makes chicken soup like Jethro made it even though the recipe isn't as nice to him as the canned soups.

The Piano Man

Whilst Tyson and Sebastian were in India, Tyson would play the piano to earn money.

Whilst Sebastian would spend the night drinking, Tyson would play the piano so that he could keep an eye on Sebastian whilst making sure they had enough money to get food and pay off Sebastian's bar bills. They had no need to pay for hotels because they spent most nights in the streets.

Wednesday 8 August 2012

Every breath counts.

Ever since he stayed in the first Monastery, Tyson has always made sure to regulate his breathing. In through his nose then out through his mouth, even when he's just walking. It's the technique used when he meditates.

He does this because of several reasons, the most important being it causes him less pain when Sebastian injures him. This works because it puts less stress on his ribs as he breaths.

The second reason is that it keeps him calm, meaning that his head is more clear and he can come up with a better way to address a situation even if he is angry or upset it allows him to think properly.

The third reason is that it allows him to feel some control. Since he met Sebastian he's had very little control over his life and controlling his breathing lets him feel as though he has some control.

Tuesday 7 August 2012

Tyson's military carrier timespan.

His entire time in the army was eleven years: four years basic training, followed by five years training the dogs, and then two years on the front line.

Monday 6 August 2012

Four years

Jethro is four years older than Tyson.

This is so he is young enough to have a strong bond with Tyson but old enough that he would be able to look after Tyson when their father was away.

Sunday 5 August 2012

Face Claim - Young Tyson.

Zachary Gordon.

A close call.

Halfway across Pakistan a military patrol passed Sebastian and Tyson by inches. They spotted the patrol early and hid under one of the huts, they were raised to stop flood water getting into the huts.

Is Tyson a badass?

[[I had to make a post about this.
So above is what was written, for context read the thread but basically Tyson is the king of nerve points. None of the nerve points he had mentioned are made up, they all work because I have done them on myself and on others. None cause damage but they can be a little sore for a few minutes.
So yes, Tyson is a bad ass. When he is confident, but most of the time? He is terrified. Think of it like an army dog, trained to be unstoppable, who has been beaten everyday.]]

[[I think your character development is just…whhwhhe rekh. That tag was relevant for that time, I mean I keep thinking back to when Jo felt so sorry for him and now she’s like…OH CRAP!]]
[[Is “whhwhhe rekh” character development good or bad?
To be honest I feel sorry for Tyson most of the time. #Pats endearingly.#]]
[[GOOD GOOD! DEFO GOOD! I felt so sorry for Tyson at the beginning of our welcome rp but now I’m like…wow the dude can handle himself.]]
[[Thank you. I’m loving Jo, you write her so well. It’s incredible.]]
[[It really puts the amount of power Sebastian has over him into perspective.]]

Original post. I felt it was best to post here to show what Sebastian has done to Tyson.
The parts pushed inwards are Jo's mun talking.

Thursday 2 August 2012

Why Sebastian was introduced?

Some of you might remember that originally Tyson knew, the now closed account, 'sniperoftheyear' and their relationship was positive, it was how he originally met Jim. So why did we introduce the new Sebastian?

When Tyson was used on stage he had a demon from his past who abused him who had only ever been referred to as "The Colonel". Since Tyson is fairly well established in the Sherlock community now, Peter and I decided that "The Colonel" could be Colonel Moran as he was discharged from the army and went to India like Tyson had. We decided that it would make sense that eventually the colonel would come looking for Tyson.
It was Peter's decision for Sebastian not to get on with Jim, his reasoning was that it you looked at it from Sebastian's point of view Jim has taken away Tyson from him so naturally would dislike him. Sebastian's point of view may change over time but that is something to discover later on in time.

I hope this answers your question, anon.

The First Monastery: Part Three

Summery: Tyson is healed enough that Sebastian says they can leave. They set off in the middle of the night.
Part One.
Part Two.

The First Monastery: Part Two.

Summary: Healing Tyson / more on how Sebastian isn't a complete monster.
Sorry that this one is short but there's not much to tell.
Part One.
Part Three.

Wednesday 1 August 2012

Indented.

His lowest left rib has a inwards dent from the amount of times Sebastian has broken the bone.

The dent in his torso is roughly an inch deep, five inches long, and an inch and a half in height. It is positioned where his lowest left rip is, it stops that area his torso being a smooth curve like the rest of his torso and turns it into an ‘m’ shape.

The First Monastery: Part One.

Summery: Tyson is injured badly and Sebastian can not get him to a hospital so takes him to the monastery, who take them in and help patch up Tyson.
Story under the cut, as always this was a collaboration with Peter to ensure Sebastian is in character.
Side note / head canon from Peter: Sebastian refures to Tyson as the boy because of the age gap between them.
Part Two.

Tuesday 31 July 2012

The overlapping scars.

Tyson has a scar on his left shoulder where Sebastian cut him, it is overlapped by a scar from Lily biting him.

How to make Tyson agreeable

Get him drunk. When Tyson is drunk he will agree to nearly any request.

At Anon's request: Nice Sebastian.

‘Go on rain, make it a perfect set of disasters’ Tyson mentally threatened the grey clouds. He was already soaked, rain wouldn’t make that much of a difference. His damp hair stuck to his forehead in that irritating I can only see a millimetre of you but it’s enough that I can’t not see it way that damp hair possesses. He was sat with his knees pulled up to his chest, his dog-tags balanced on his left knee.
Sebastian sat down next to Tyson on the stone wall. “Cheer up, would ya?”
Tyson looked away from the older man. “Go away, Sebastian. I’m not in the mood.”
Sebastian gave Tyson a nudge, “I know. I’m not after a lay, just want to see you smile Ty.”
Tyson stood up and made to storm off. Sebastian hooked an arm around his waist and pulled him back down. Tyson let himself be manhandled onto the wall.
“I brought some fish and chips.” Sebastian held up the porsolin box as a peace offering. Tyson frowned in confusion.
“We’re in India and you managed to find fish and chips. You really are a Brit through and through.”
Sebastian shrugged opening the box and handing Tyson a wooden fork. “Apparently this place is popular with British backpackers.” Tyson nodded glumly, nibbling on a piece of batter from what tasted like Cod but could easily be Haddock.
Sebastian sighed, then wrapped an arm around Tyson neck, giving his shoulder a squeeze.
“If you hadn’t taken him out he would have taken me out.” Tyson said nothing.
Sebastian placed the vinegar drowned food down on the wall with a heavy hand making the chips move from being beached on one pile of salt to a slightly smaller one.
“Why does this bother you so much? You’ve killed before.”
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
Sebastian could see he wasn’t going to get anything out of Tyson. “Eat.” He handed Tyson the inedible food then got up to walk back into the village.
Tyson gave the food a couple more tries before concluding that Sebastian didn’t understand condiments weren’t too be used like milk.
Sebastian returned during Tyson’s attempts to drink enough water to remove the taste of salt. “Here.”
Sebastian handed Tyson a well read leather bound book. Tyson read the worn spine, “a course in pure mathematics?”
“I thought it would cheer you up.” Tyson leaned forward and hugged Sebastian.
“Thank you.”
Sebastian smiled, “Any time.” He, rather unwisely, took a bite from the fish before spitting it out. “Oh God, thats saltier than the bleedin’ red bloody sea.” Tyson smiled fondly and….
Tyson woke up from the dream. He made his way to the bookcase, ignoring Lily barks of welcome, and took down the book. He sat down on the floor with his back to the wall and ran two tentative fingered along the spine. He missed those days, when Sebastian was sober, back when he cared about Tyson.

Playlist

[[This is more for my benefit encase I delete it by mistake, but still it might be of interest.]]
The stars represent how the songs change Tyson's mood, the further left the worse the mood the further right the better. Playing these songs in this order keeps him in the content mood with him bouncing around the room.

As always click to make it bigger. The list bellow the cut is why each song puts him in that mood.

Smooth

Aside from the occasional two day stumble he has a smooth face, because his father had a beard which he grew to loath.

That went well...

Nearby Mirgarh Sebastian set fire to the dry grass with the end of his cigarette nearly destroying their supplies.

Rolling the tags.

When Tyson is nervous he'll role his dog-tags in his fingers.

Wrong arm

He has a jagged scar on his right wrist, caused by Razor [a dog from his first class] bitting the wrong arm, the one without the protector on it during attack training.

Saturday 28 July 2012

Central Scar

In the centre of his chest there is a small scar where Sebastian's knife went through his tags during an argument in Pakistan.

Danny boy

When Sebastian's beating were particularly vicious Tyson would sing Oh Danny boy because it is what Jethro sung to Tyson when he was young.

Friday 27 July 2012

Lily is part Dhole.

Lily is part Dhole, a wild dog found in Pakistan, despite her coat being from a Dalmatian mother. Dhole was chosen because it is a wild dog that can breed with domesticated dogs and has been reported in Pakistan.

This was first referenced in this post.

Turn on or turn off? Round up.

Q: Being tied up. Kiss of the neck. Being called kiddo. Having hair pulled. Tickling.
A: Turn on, but only when it’s with a tie.

Turn on, my neck is extremely sensitive.
Turn off.
Turn on/off, it depends on the scenario.
Turn off. [[I would like to point out that whilst I made Tyson answer these he was blushing so hard I thought he’d turn claret. Also I know this was you, Peter.]]

Q: Harsh kissing. Being told to suck someone off. Being ridden. Having hickeys. Wearing restrictive clothing.
A: Turn on.

Turn on, sometimes depends on the person.
Depend which you mean. The one most teens do: turn on. As in puppy: neither it’s just comforting.
Depends on how long a long time is but normally turn on.
Turn on.
[[I think you just broke him. He was stuttering for a good thirty seconds before he’d answer. Currently he’s a dark scarlet…]]

Q: Sex in public. Electricity. Swearing. Sex with virgins. Biting. Spooning
A: Turn off.
Turn off.

Not really either.
Turn on.
Neither, but I love spooning, or cuddling, or any variation where I’m being held or holding someone.
[[Anon, this was cruel he’d only just stopped blushing.]]

The women in Khushab.

Whilst on his first journey through Pakistan Tyson had few opportunities to talk to anyone other than Sebastian but he did have one conversation with a young women who gave him money to help on his travel, she said that 'he reminded her of her brother, and that she wished him well on his journey'. The money lasted for five weeks after meeting the women in Khushab.

Middle East time graph.

Each square across is a month, the graph shows the time he spend in the Middle East between Tyson deserting the army and Tyson returning to Britain, via a trip across Europe.

Thursday 26 July 2012

Sunstroke number one.

Drakalo was where he first passed out because of the heat. The doctor who took care of him spoke very little English, so when Tyson first came to he tried to runaway but only managed to get two metres before collapsing.

Wednesday 25 July 2012

Under the trees.

Tyson kept as close to trees as he could in Pakistan. He enjoyed the relative cool the shade provided, during the day time trips he passed out from heat strokes twice. The first time he was in a village and a doctor took care of him. The second time he had been found and moved to a village where a hospital checked him over.

Tuesday 24 July 2012

Monastery Mishap

When he stayed in the monastery in Pakistan he stayed because he thought it would be safe to stay there as the military would be cautious to enter a religious area, and when they did it would  only be one or two of them. He was correct. When they entered a monk helped him out through the Southern entrance to the monastry and gave him a canteen of water for the journey.

Jethro?

Why is he called Jethro?

Tyson's brother is called Jethro because it means overachieve which is a trait their father would want in a son.

Going the distance

He travelled by day once he was with Lily because he knew the army would expect him to go by night so during the day he could build up a good distance.

Monday 23 July 2012

North vs South

Despite it being the part of Pakistan he explored with Sebastian, Tyson enjoyed the north of Pakistan better than the south. Mainly because he doesn't enjoy being in the heat for too long and with Sebastian most of the travelling was done by night and by day they stayed in the shade to sleep.

Meeting the mutt.

Tyson met Lily when she was one she is now three years old. She was one when they met which means that she was young enough to train easily as she had developed few bad habits and her breed meant she picked up the training with relative ease.

Sunday 22 July 2012

He knows Jim's coffee order of by heart. When he's gone to make a cup of tea in the mornings he has found himself accidentally making Jim's coffee instead.
He was never into watching football but when asked what team he supports he answers Burnley because when he was growing up that was the only team he knew who most of the players were.

Saturday 21 July 2012

Tyson's uncle was an English teacher, until he retired following his brother's (Tyson's father) early death due to work-based stress.

Friday 20 July 2012

The dots show what happened to Tyson or what Tyson did on his journey.
The arrows going right to left are where Tyson met Lily, when Tyson was nearly apprehended by the military, where Tyson broke his wrist climbing over a wall, and where he stayed several night because it seemed safe.
His grandmother taught him piano. Tyson asked to learn to stop Jethro butchering the violin, at his older brother's request.
When Tyson lies his left ring finger twitches because Sebastian broke it for lying to him.

Sebastian didn't purposefully break it, but it was a side effect of his assault.
Tyson and Jethro set up an emergency bank account using the money their mother left them. It was set up in case one of them became homeless, each year they both put £100 in the account.

At the time it was unnecessary as both had access to the family fortune, however neither would have put it past their father to cut off their access for disobeying him.
When Tyson first joined the military he trained the dogs before being moved to front line combat.
His military carrier lasted eleven years.
He is better at hand to hand combat than with a gun, he knows all the nerve points to hit.

That said, Tyson would prefer to have the option of working with a knife over having no weapon at all.
He was in the First Bangalore Pioneers as a Strategist.
When on the run from the military with Sebastian they spent two weeks in a Monestry in India so Tyson's ribs could heal. Whilst there the monk who put his ribs back in place taught him to meditate to regulate his breathing so he would be in less pain. Tyson regularly meditates because it helps him think.

Tyson had previously learnt how to calm down and breath with Jasmine, but she had taught him how to calm down after an anxiety attack. Not how to breath in a way that minimised the movement of his ribs.
His preferred drink is Jasmine and Pomegranate tea, it reminds him of his Grandmother.

She drank Jasmine tea more often than not, and her perfume smelled like Pomegranate.
He was born on October 21st 1981.
Every weekend Jethro would take Tyson swimming in a near by creak. Once Jethro ran away from home Tyson would hang up the leather jacket his brother left him hanging from a tree branch and sit by the side of the river hoping he would see Jethro again.
Since he was seven Tyson had wanted a dog, which is why his first job was training dogs at the vets.

To appease his father, Tyson claimed that he wanted the job to get some experience working before continuing the family legacy at Cambridge. Tyson still isn't sure if his father actually believed him, or was simply willing to make a rare allowance for his son's happiness.
He dropped out of school at seventeen to join the Army so his father couldn't make him go to Cambridge university to teach mathematics, but by this point he'd already earned his degrees (3 Ph.Ds) and any work he had left was just tidying up course work. He (technically) left a week before his seventeenth birthday, but he thinks of it as his seventeenth birthday.

UPDATE 03/10/2013 - This makes Tyson's timeline, at this point in time, read as follows: seventeen year in Cambridge, eleven years in the army (four years basic training, followed by five years training the dogs, and then two years on the front line with Sebastian), fifteen months on the run with Sebastian, four months in the Middle East, two months travelling across Europe, and just over a year and a half with Jim.
He only had two 'friends' at school: Peter Benjamin Campbell and Alastair John Mandelson. Alastair was the one who convinced him to join the military.

Even after finding out that his father had paid them to be his friends, Tyson's desire to join remained. He just needed that first push to join, to spite his father and abandon the family legacy.
Tyson played cricket on his school's cricket team every year. He was an excellent bowler and fielder, but his batting was definitely his weakest point. He wasn't bad, just not as good.
Every summer he and his brother were sent to their uncle Richard's house in Edinburgh, whilst their father went to Spain.
Tyson's father was a Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge University. Whilst there he earned the nickname "Lucifer" for his ruthless attitude and harsh marking, this nickname came from both students and teachers. He is now deceased.

This was funny to the students and some of the professors, but they didn't have the same context as the Delaney family. Their family is ethnically and religiously Jewish, the nickname left a bad taste in everyone's mouths.
Tyson's mother, whose maiden name was Anne Samantha Williams, left his father when Tyson was four.

As a child Tyson had never understood why his mother left but as he grew up he started to understand, especially after father's beating began. One thing he never came to terms with was why she chose to leave him and Jethro behind.
Tyson's older brother, Jethro Andrew Delaney, ran away from home when Tyson was fourteen. At the time, Jethro was eighteen.

When Tyson ran away from home to join the army, he was younger; only sixteen, a few days before his seventeenth birthday.
